Pinned notes are a great way to communicate with your company's Function Point users. When you send a Pinned Note to another FP user, they will get an alert and the Note will show up on their Dashboard.
Some potential uses for Pinned Notes are as follows:
- Company-wide announcements
- Task and deadline reminders
- Requests to review files sent by a client
- Communication between team members
If that sounds useful, keep reading to learn about Pinned Notes and their features.
Where to See Them

On the Classic Dashboard view, Pinned Notes are in the top right panel. The panel displays the Note title and the date it was pinned to your Dashboard. It also gives you the option to unpin the Note from your Dashboard.
Note: unpinning a Note removes it from your Dashboard, but does not delete the Note.
You can create new Notes from this panel by clicking the Add button at the top of the panel. Click the Refresh button to make sure you're seeing the latest Pinned Notes.
Hovering over a Note's title will create a pop out with the Note's contents. You can also click on the title to be taken to a full-screen view of the Note's details.

See Who's Seen the Note

Once you've created a Pinned Note, you can keep track of who has seen the Note. To do so, go to the details page of the specific Pinned Note you'd like to check. Click the Pin button in the top right.

From this pop up window, you'll be able to see who got sent the Note, if they've read it or not, and add more people to the pinned list.
If you make any changes, click Submit to save them.
