The Function Point Client Portal is a useful add-on that can help you communicate with your clients. Once set up as Portal users, your clients will be able to view certain components of the work you are doing for them. Once your Portal is set up and you've set up your clients as Portal users, you will also be able to collaborate with your clients by exchanging files, Notes and links. This article will teach you how to make information in your FP system visible to Portal users.
There are two main places in your FP system where you can make Notes and files visible to your Portal users: the Company page and the Job page.
Where you choose to add a Note or file affects how it is viewed in the Client Portal. You can refer to the chart below for a quick summary, or keep reading for a more detailed explanation.

Making Client-Visible Notes and Files
There are two places you can make client-visible Notes and files: the Job page and the Company page.
For Notes, click the Add New button and choose Note.
From the Add Note page, you can add content to the Note and attach files. To make it appear in the Portal, click the Visible to Client checkbox. Notes added from the Company page will be visible to all Company Contacts who are Portal users. Notes added from a Job page will be visible to all any Contacts attached to that Job who have Portal access.
You can also make client-visible files by navigating to the Files tab of a Job record and clicking Upload File.
From the resulting popup box, you'll be able to upload a file and give it a description. Make sure to select the Client Visible checkbox.
