To help you keep track of your Events, Tasks, and Jobs, you can connect your Function Point data to iCal. This can be done quickly from any Job with associated Tasks or a Schedule.
From any Job Details page, click the Subscribe to iCal button in the top right corner.
This will open your calendar, with the Calendar URL for this Job's Schedule. Click Subscribe. You may be asked to put in your computer's username and password.
You should then get the opportunity to choose the calendar colour, and how often it should refresh the data The default for iCal is every week, but we recommend more frequent updates, such as every 5 or 15 minutes. Click OK when you're done.
The Task and Job information will automatically appear in your calendar. You can click on the Job entry or any Task to see more detailed information about it. If you make any changes to Tasks or Jobs in your FP system, the corresponding entries in iCal will automatically update to reflect these changes at the interval you set (every week, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, etc.).
Note: the calendar will only show tasks that are in a status of Draft, Assigned or In Progress. Tasks require a start and/or end date. You will not see Completed or Confirmed Tasks. To build a more sophisticated Job-related Calendar filter, use the steps found here.
For Jobs that do not yet have a Schedule or Tasks attached to them, you can still use the Subscribe to iCal function. Once you've done this, any new Schedules or Tasks you create for that job will be added to iCal.
