Tracking time in FP is very straight forward, with time being trackable at both the Job and Task levels. For Tasks, time can be tracked so long as the Task is associated to a Job.

Using the Timesheet Panel on the Dashboard
The Timesheet panel is located on the left hand side of the "Classic" Dashboard view. With the ability to Customize Your Dashboard, you may have moved the Timesheet panel to a different spot.
Also on the "Classic" Dashboard, you will see the Tasks/ To Dos panel in the center, bottom of the page.
Note that you can change the sort order of the Task, just by clicking any of the column headers. The grey arrow will indicate by which column you are sorting. You can also filter your Tasks using the drop down lists. For example you might only want to see tasks that are "Assigned To Me" that are "Due Soon (Next 7 Days)".
Once you have been assigned a Task and you are ready to work on it, use the dropdown menu to move the status to "In Progress". After moving the status to "In Progress" a timer icon will appear. You can now track time to this Task. Click the timer icon to populate the Timesheet window. Note that timesheets can only be added to Tasks that are associated to open Jobs.
Many of the Timesheet panel fields have filled in based on the content of the Task selected. You will need to enter some data to complete the Timesheet.
- Enter the duration of time you worked towards the Task. We recommend breaking your time down by the quarter hour: 0.25 = 15 minutes, 0.5 = 30 minutes, 0.75 = 45 minutes, 1 = 1 hour. (Note that staff can track time using a Start/ Stop clock if they prefer. This is setup in the Admin area.)
- If the Service has not been pre-set already at the Task level, you will need to select the best one. From the Service dropdown menu, select the time trackable service you worked on. Note that the Service Group and Services displayed in the dropdown list are based on the data in the Estimate for this Job.
- Optionally add in a description of the work performed.
- Click Submit when ready.
The time now appears in the bottom portion of the Timesheet window. It can be edited or deleted as needed.
It will also display against the Task itself under the Actuals column. And should you exceed the amount of time estimated to complete the Task, the Actuals will show in red.
Change the Task to the status of Completed once you have finished your work. Doing so will remove it from your Dashboard.
Alternate Task Time Tracking Options
Should you not be using the "Classic" Dashboard view, you can still track time to the Task and Job level. From the main navigation bar, hover over Timesheeets, and choose Add Timesheet. Then just enter your tracked time details, and click Submit, or Submit & Add Another Timesheet.
You can also add a Timesheet for a Task from any Task Details page - provided the Task is in a status of In Progress.
- Click Add Timesheet.
- Then enter the amount of time worked and any description. Click Submit when ready.
