For all you Project Managers who want to build schedules in Asana, we’ve got you covered!

This integration will ensure your FP system remains your single source of truth while supporting and pulling from the schedules you build for your team in Asana. Below are the details on all this integration will do for you.

Please note that this integration will work for users who are on Asana’s Starter plan (or higher).

## Syncing Jobs & Projects

**What prompts the Project Creation?**
When “Add Job” is selected on an Estimate in FP, a coordinating Project will be opened in Asana provided the associated Office in FP is mapped to a Team in Asana.

*Due to webhook limitations in place from Asana, your FP database can have a maximum of 10,000 jobs/projects in active sync.*

## Syncing Tasks

**What prompts the creation of Tasks?**
Tasks created in either Asana or Function Point will be reflected in the integrated system upon creation of the task record and shortly after saving. This is subject to the job/project they belong to being actively synced.

**What happens to Subtasks created in Asana?**
A Subtask created in Asana will prompt the creation of a regular task in Function Point. The Parent task will also appear in FP, the estimated hours of which will be zero unless the estimated time was assigned to the parent on top of the aggregate of sub-tasks.

**How do the systems sync Estimated Hours?**

Estimated hours is still a relatively new feature to Asana, and therefore has not been made editable via integration. For this reason, we are not able to send estimated hour information from FP to Asana, however, Estimated hours logged in Asana will appear and be updated in FP for the associated tasks.

**Are there any limits to the number of tasks on a Project/Job?**
Tasks created in Asana via the integration will be logged to the Job associated in FP, but it will not automatically prompt the creation of a schedule. Provided you do not launch a schedule in FP, you will not run into the 300-task limit, and any limitations to the number of tasks will be exclusively based on Asana’s capabilities.

**What happens when tasks are deleted?**
Tasks that are deleted from either system will be deleted from both. If there is time associated with the task in FP, that time will remain attached to the Job, but will no longer be associated with the deleted task. Note, that files and comments associated with the tasks in either system will be lost.
